Merry Christmas 2015!

Merry Christmas to our friends and family! We hope this letter finds you well.

What an eventful year this has been for our family. In February, we purchased our own home here in Colorado Springs. It perfectly suits our needs, including the biggest and best school room we have ever had and a separate (and quiet!) office for Tim. :-) We have a large backyard with some terrific trees. Thanks to all of this space, we've been able to realize a couple of our animal dreams. We've added two dogs--Walter and Agnes, ten chickens--The Trunchbull, Rapunzel, Galadriel, Buttercup, Hortense, Cordelia, Prudence, Clementine, Beatrice, and Gertrude (and yes, they are finally laying eggs!), a guinea pig--Rex, and a cat--Steven to our family. It has been a lot of fun. We love living in Colorado. It is a beautiful place to live and a great place to raise our family. We're lucky enough to live down the street from our church building and have made some special friends here. While we miss our family and friends, we feel blessed to have found such dear friends here.

In March, our daughter Sahara was married to Michael Garrett, and a week later we sent Bethlehem on an LDS mission to Atlanta, Georgia. Things are going well for Mike and Sahara and they are happily anticipating the birth of their first child in June 2016. Bethlehem is loving her mission and doing incredibly well. Her letters are inspiring and entertaining.

So here is a quick rundown of what the rest of us are up to:

Tim--still selling records and CDs, remains the best husband and father ever, and was just called as the 2nd counselor in our stake presidency.

Wendy--still homeschooling the kids, drowning in laundry, and loving every bit of it. (I'm living the dream!)

Ryland (17)--just finished up another semester of college, loves basketball, is in the church choir, is looking forward to graduating high school this spring, and cannot wait to go on an LDS mission next summer.

Kenyon (15)--not quite old enough to date or drive, but trying to make the most out of his life anyway. ;-) He loves basketball, soccer, friends, and his dogs.

Matthias (13)--has grown so much this last year and suddenly none of his clothes or shoes fit anymore, loves history, and is proud to say that he has now been in our family for three years.

Esther (12)--loves being in young women at church, is in the church choir, loves to draw and dance.

Claire (12)--happily graduated from primary into the young women at church, is in the church choir, can most often be found with her nose in a book, and loves to cook.

Ezra (11.75)--loves to draw, talk, eat, whistle, play the piano, and is looking forward to receiving the priesthood and joining young men at church in January.

Talley (10)--loves to giggle, draw, sing in the church choir, play outside, and play with our pets.

Oscar (7)--is good at math, loves to ride his bike, play outside, play with cars and trains and loves to eat.

Henry (4)--loves playing more than any child we have ever seen ... he takes it very seriously and would rather play than do anything else. Henry is smart, funny, cuddly and wonderful.

We are healthy and happy and enjoying life.

Elder Jeffrey R. Holland of the Quorum of the Twelve Apostles taught: "Without our religious faith, without recognizing the reality and necessity of spiritual life, the world makes no sense, and a nonsense world is a place of horror. Only if the world has meaning at a spiritual level is it possible for human beings to keep going, to keep trying. ... More prayer and humility, more faith and forgiveness, more repentance and revelation and reinforcement from heaven--these are where we seek remedy and deliverance. ... I testify of God's limitless love for His children, of His unquenchable desire to help us heal our wounds, individually and collectively."

May your Christmas and upcoming year be filled with peace, hope, joy and happiness and may you feel close to your Savior.

With Love,
The B Family
